Opening: 24 October 2025, from 7 p.m.
Exhibition: 25 October – 16 November 2025
Surfaces, things, movements – sliding down the surface of things tells of the existence at the end of the supply chain and the relationships of a model human being at the heart of global capitalism to the things that surround him – mostly goods that have made their way to him, gathered in containers, across the seven seas and markets.
The exhibition presents the counterpart and continuation of the installation choreography of commodities (2023), which dealt with the question of the visibility or invisibility of global economic conditions and examined the use of metaphors and narratives as their interpretations.
In addition to the presentation of two video works, the exhibition shows elements of the set design for a future film. In its construction of an artificial yet seemingly natural social reality, the film reflects on the global system of capitalism, behind whose surface the acting subjects seem to disappear.
Open by appointment only. Please call +49 178 3298 106 or email: mailto@after-the-butcher.de
